{"id":9,"date":"2026-03-05T23:37:05","date_gmt":"2026-03-06T04:37:05","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.brookhavencoalition.org\/business\/?page_id=9"},"modified":"2026-03-05T22:02:18","modified_gmt":"2026-03-06T03:02:18","slug":"grants","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.brookhavencoalition.org\/?page_id=9","title":{"rendered":"Grants"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"font-size: revert;\"><b>The BCCC is once again offering their \u2018Small Business Improvement Award Grant&#8217;.\u00a0 <\/b><u style=\"font-weight: bold;\">Only Chamber members<\/u><b>\u00a0are eligible to submit their letters of request.\u00a0 Guidelines and contact info are below.\u00a0 <\/b><em style=\"font-weight: bold;\">Your letter of request is your \u2018formal application\u2019, and must be submitted as a.pdf or Word document.<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong><u>Small Business Improvement Award-$1,200<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Business may not be larger than 50 employees<\/li>\n<li>Business must be a member of their local chamber or any chamber in the Town of Brookhaven.<\/li>\n<li>That chamber must be a member of the BCCC in good standing.<\/li>\n<li>Only Business owners or main principles of the business may submit an application for the award.<\/li>\n<li>Proof of ownership or entitlement (manager, executive) must be presented with the application.<\/li>\n<li>Must be in business for at least a year.<\/li>\n<li>Requests for the award will be judged by how beneficial the money will be used to improve the business. I.e. updating and purchasing equipment, capital improvements, and professional services; i.e. consulting evaluations, business plans, marketing strategies, promotional advertising, signs, energy efficient improvements-lighting, insulation etc.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>*Non-profits are ineligible, ONLY SMALL BUSINESSES<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>*Money may not be used to supplement operating expenses of the business.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><em>*Proof of expenditure must be presented 6 months after the award, unless other pre-approved arrangements have been made.<\/em><\/strong><em>\u00a0 <strong>Letters of request must be emailed to <\/strong><\/em><a href=\"mailto:bransome@optonline.net\"><strong><em>bransome@optonline.net<\/em><\/strong><\/a><strong><em>\u00a0 with BCCC \u2018Small Business Improvement Award\u2019 in the subject area.\u00a0 <\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>ALL letters MUST be emailed by . <\/strong>They will be reviewed and voted on for the Annual Member of the Year Reception.<\/p>\n<p>All questions can be directed to Barbara Ransome: 631-889-1190, or email at <a href=\"mailto:bransome@optonline.net\">bransome@optonline.net<\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><i><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">BCCC&#8217;s Chamber of Commerce-Economic Stimulus Incentive Grant-$1,000<\/span><\/i><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Criteria<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Be a Chamber in the Town of Brookhaven.<\/li>\n<li>Be a member of the BCCC in good standing.<\/li>\n<li>Must submit a written narrative of how the money will be spent:<b><\/b><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ol>\n<li>Money must be used for the <b><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">benefit of the membership<\/span><\/b> i.e. \u00a0To improve communications, updating your website, increasing or creating a newsletter, helping to sponsor a chamber member event.<\/li>\n<li>Money can be used to improve member services, i.e. upgrading computer software and hardware, purchasing new equipment, fax, answering machine, capital improvements: painting office, office equipment: file cabinets, desks, etc.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><b><i><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">*Money cannot be used to supplement<\/span><\/i><\/b><b><i> operating expenses; i.e. utility bills, rent, salaries, insurances etc. <\/i><\/b><\/p>\n<p><b><i>*Awarded Chamber must complete the spending of the money within 6 months of receiving the grant, unless other arrangements have been approved in advance.\u00a0 Proof of expenditure must be represented to the BCCC Board after the money is used.<\/i><\/b><\/p>\n<p><b><i>Applications will be reviewed by the Town of Brookhaven IDA.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>All requests must be submitted by email <\/i><\/b><b><i>only<\/i><\/b><b><i> to <\/i><\/b><b><i><a href=\"mailto:lmulligan@brookhavenida.org\">lmulligan@brookhavenida.org<\/a>, at t<\/i><\/b><b><i>he IDA Offices, Attention Lisa Mulligan. \u00a0<\/i><\/b><b><i>All requests must be in by , and must be submitted as a .pdf or Word document .<\/i><\/b><\/p>\n<p><strong><i><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">BCCC&#8217;s Operating Grants-$1,000 &amp; $500<\/span><\/i><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Criteria<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>The <u>Brookhaven Chambers of Commerce Coalition<\/u> recognizes that our small business communities are always challenged. \u00a0With this in mind, the BCCC is offering 2 operational grants to help offset <em>operational expenditures.<\/em> \u00a0This criteria differs from our <em>small business improvement grant,<\/em> and allows the money awarded to be used for FUNCTIONAL COSTS.\u00a0 Guidelines and contact info are below.\u00a0 <em>Your letter of request is your \u2018formal application\u2019. \u00a0\u00a0<\/em>Applications will be judged independently and ONLY one per business. \u00a0Reflecting the needs of the business will determine the amount of the grant.\u00a0 <\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><u>BCCC\u2019s Small Business Operating Grants-$1,000 &amp;
